THEME: Injustice, Mass Incarceration, Economic Disparity, Racism, Police Brutality in the Black/African-American Community

FHC Ministries Speaking Truth to Power Conference 2019 is proud to present “States of Black Art Expo” Preview Art Exhibition. This show will be a preview art exhibition that will take place during the conference. Your work will be viewed by conference attendees and the general public. You are encouraged to be present at the event. All artists keep 100% of any sales, including originals and prints. There is a $5.00 per piece submission fee for up to five (5) pieces. Images must be JPEGs with minimum width/height of 800 pixels, maximum size as 3MB. The title of the image file should be the same as the title of the artwork. The online submission form will be available starting 08/05/19 at www.statesofblack.com

All work must have a strong political narrative that is on theme (see above for THEME). If your work is selected you will be notified and if necessary, we may also schedule a day to view your pieces in person.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION – September 20, 2019
ARTIST NOTIFICATION – September 25, 2019
ART DROPOFF – September 28, 2019; 9am – 8pm (Location will be provided)
EXHIBITION DATES: 10/10/2019 – 10/12/2019
MEET THE ARTIST BRUNCH: Saturday, October 12, 2019

HOW TO SUBMIT AFTER AUG 5: Please complete the online artist submission form found at www.statesofblack.com

Medium: Acrylic, Airbrush, Assemblage, Charcoal, Color Pencil, Collage, Digital Art, Drawings, Encaustic, Fiber Art, Graphite, Illustration, Mixed Media, New Media, Oil, Painting, Pastel, Photography (Traditional and Digital), and Watercolor.

This Call for Art is open to local artists, professional and amateur working in the disciplines listed above.
