Title Call for Entries: Houston Site Specific Videos
Organization Popwalk Smartphone app
Closing Date Tuesday, May 1, 2018
Location Houston, TX

Houston is an exhibition about rebuilding, remembering, rejuvenating, and reinventing Houston. In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, the whole world saw the resilience and sacrifice of Houston. As the city works on the difficult task of arising from that disaster Re:Houston gives artists from all over the globe an opportunity to commemorate those places within this great city that they love, remember those places that have been lost or changed, and celebrate the heroism of the individuals and the city itself.

The exhibition will be displayed on the Popwalk phone application. Popwalk give artists, musicians and performers the ability to exhibit video, animation, music or performance in specific geographic locations. Using Popwalk, artists will be able to exhibit their works of art in those corners of the city they want to remember.

Lisa Volpe, Associate Curator of Photography at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and Sara Kellner, Houston Arts Alliance (HAA), Director of Civic Art + Design will be serving as jurors for the exhibit.

The Talkington College of Visual and Performing Arts at Texas Tech University has given $5000 in prize money for this exhibition.
