Peripheral Vision Arts is seeking visionary American art historians to contribute contract writing and curatorial assignments to its highly competitive and prestigious juried publication, Peripheral Vision, an interdisciplinary digital journal of the visual arts. Founded by Texas emerging artist Scott Gleeson in May 2016, Peripheral Vision has established a reputation as a publisher of academic criticism serving top emerging and mid-career artists. Artists are selected for our distinctive Publication Fellowships through national open calls, then paired with a critic for the production of interpretive essays and interviews. All texts are publicly available on the website without third-party advertising and are distributed over email subscription and via social media.

Ideal candidates will possess an MA or PhD in Art History with a specialty in post-war or contemporary art; be fluent in modern and contemporary art discourses and theory; desire to collaborate directly with living artists; and be committed to writing rigorous, historically and theoretically informed criticism for a specialized academic readership. (Critics should have ready access to an art library and online research tools.)
