Mission: Window On a Wider World is dedicated to enriching the education of Texas Panhandle students through arts, science and cultural experiences.

Job Title: Executive Director
Reports to: Board of Directors

A. Vision
1. Give direction and leadership toward the achievement of the organization’s philosophy, mission, strategy and its annual goals and objectives
2. Implement the strategic plan, goals, and objectives of the organization
3. Work with the Board of Directors and Advisors to develop and organize committees to carry out the mission of the organization
4. Work with the Board and staff to develop and promote the vision for the organization through a strategic plan that is developed and periodically updated by the Board and full-time staff collectively

B. Facilitate Vision
1. Assure the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.
2. Oversee design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products, newsletters, communications and services
3. Work with director of development to oversee fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach funders, submitting proposals and grants, and administrating fundraising records and documentation
4. Develop and maintain an effective calendar of events and activities for awareness of Window On a Wider World, for education programming and for professional development of staff and educators of WOWW schools.
5. Supervise and maintain effective communication with resident companies and donors who are seat owners ensuring the support of the personal license agreement
6. Annually visit/communicate with WOWW schools throughout the Texas Panhandle for positive public relations, feedback, improvement and expansion of WOWW
7. Develop, implement and evaluate a volunteer organization for the needs of the organization as determined by the executive director and the board of directors
8. Effectively manage the human resources of the organization according to authorized personnel policies and procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations
9. Liaison to City of Amarillo regarding maintenance and operations of the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts where WOWW is officed

C. Budget
1. Recommend yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manage the organization’s resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations
2. Oversee the monthly financial account.

D. Fundraising
1. Develop and maintain a positive relationship with donors while seeking potential donors through the fundraising plan
2. Develop strategic plan and review every 2-3 years
3. Develop positive relationship with superintendents of school districts for implementation of WOWW and solicits each district’s financial support
4. Work with development director to create and implement fundraising events that provide exposure, awareness and partnerships
5. Explore POWWOWW possibilities in neighboring communities

E. Board Ownership
1. Responsible for the orientation and development of the Board of Directors and its members with the Board Chair, to organize agendas, define roles, see that minutes are recorded, and conduct evaluations
2. With the chair, enable the Board to fulfill its governance function
3. Invite board members to experience a WOWW facilitated program at a school campus or at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts
4. Support operations and administration of Board by advising and informing Board members and interfacing between Board and staff
5. Develop opportunities for Board to be involved and actively participate in programs, events and fundraising
6. Report to WOWW Board of Directors and Advisors monthly, and report quarterly to the WOWW Board of Directors and the governing board of directors

Qualifications:
The Executive Director is the overall, primary management and leadership role in the organization. Therefore, it is critical that the Executive Director have strong knowledge and skills in a wide variety of areas. These include expertise in the following:

Management and leadership Planning
Organization Coordination of activities and resources
Positive relationship development Financial analysis and implementation
Financial resource development Marketing and promotions
Development and fundraising Visionary thinking
Strong writing, speaking, public relations skills Systems thinking
Motivation of personnel
Education:
Bachelors degree in business, marketing, arts, education or related field
Masters degree is preferred
Five years experience in a managerial/leadership position
