Artistic Director

The Artistic Director reports to the Board of Directors and works in close partnership with the Managing Director and Technical Director. As the creative leader, the Artistic Director is responsible for the creation and presentation of all theatrical work attributable to The Players Theatre Company. This position is also responsible for building relationships with directors, actors, technical artists, and other theatre and arts organizations. The Artistic Director will organize and supervise all production staff and volunteers including creative teams, casts and technical teams.

The Artistic Director will participate and support all strategic fundraising programs to achieve stability and expansion of the theatre donor base, while nurturing the existing donor community and inspiring increased philanthropy. The Artistic Director will interact with the community at large, and work to obtain an atmosphere that is positive, forward thinking, welcoming, and inclusive. The successful candidate will have a proven record of success in leadership and creative collaboration as well as a working understanding of theatre trends, community appeal, and production standards. The Director must exhibit strong communication skills, artistic insight and depth, and an ability to develop a vision to elevate the Players Theatre Company product.
