The Director of Exhibit Design and Production is an integral leader in ensuring the best possible visitor experience at the Children’s Museum of Houston (CMH) the Fort Bend Children’s Discovery Center (FBCDC). This person is a solid project manager and planner who works with the Director of Exhibit Development to create short, medium, and long-range exhibit schedules and to develop new exhibit and exhibit component concepts and designs. Highly creative and design-oriented, this person will manage and coordinate with various teams the design, production, and installation of exhibits and exhibit components so they meet or exceed current museum standards of excellence at both CMH and FBCDC. This will include the ability to adjust mid-process to ensure delivery on-time and on or under budget. Managing a highly creative team of exhibit technicians, this person must communicate well within and outside their department. He/She/They must be able to problem-solve and creatively adapt to meet all deliverable requirements. He/She/They works with the gallery and exhibits staff to make sure that all exhibits are in daily working order to ensure a positive visitor experience as well as works with the Facilities Manager to ensure visitor safety.
