Plan, promote and implement annual festivals, events and cultural activities while fostering positive relations with merchants, businesses, hotels, attractions, residents and local, county and state governmental agencies.

Essential Functions
Under minimal supervision of the Managing Director of Sales and Marketing and in conjunction with the Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director serves to promote positive positioning of Grapevine through festivals and events and further serves to generate funding for heritage education and heritage attractions through festival and event proceeds along with creating room night generating activities. Typical duties and responsibilities include:

1. Develop annual themes for each Festival and Event

2. Identify marketable activities relative to the theme

3. Ability to refresh Festivals and Events on an ongoing basis

4. Ability to attract and motivate volunteers

5. Develop volunteer leadership for Steering Committees

6. Develop regional and national sponsorship opportunities and stay in budget

7. Have strong financial and budgeting skills

8. Strong negotiation and contracting skills

9. Effectively manage time and resources to meet multiple project deadlines.

10. Develop and administrate budget for multiple in-house produced festivals and events.

11. Implement other duties as assigned.

Required Skills (SKA’s & Required Education, Experience and Other Requirements)
Four-year degree in Hospitality or Recreation and Events or a two-year degree with IFEA (International Festivals & Events Association) or TFEA (Texas Festivals & Events Association) certification.

Other Requirements
1. Ensures development, funding, and implementation of festivals and events to further Grapevine’s tourism, heritage education, preservation and revitalization efforts.

2. Ensures timely and appropriate coordination and communication amongst local businesses, citizens, committees, city officials and services with regards to festivals and events.

3. Provides appropriate reports and presentations to CVB Director, City Council, City Management, Advisory Boards, Civic and Service organizations as well as the business community and general public.
