Reports to: Director of Arts and Humanities Grants Programs

Mid-America Arts Alliance has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and detailed oriented, full-time administrative professional. The main objective of this grant-funded position is to provide administrative and operational support for the Arts and Humanities Grants Program Division, a fast-paced department central to the mission of the organization.
The Grant Program Coordinator works with department staff supporting the day-to-day work and essential functions around an emerging cross-sector grant program opportunity and its affiliated data analysis and management. The position requires flexibility and skill to undertake a project that will develop and change from day to day; to communicate effectively with constituents, stakeholders, management, and other relevant parties; and to handle confidential matters requiring absolute discretion.
The ideal candidate for this position will have at least three years of data management experience, preferably program management in a nonprofit environment, some military or military-adjacent experience, a history of demonstrating initiative, a strong intuitive sensibility, and the ability to coordinate and maintain priorities. They must possess excellent computer skills (primarily Microsoft Office and Teams) and be able to project a professional organization image via in-person, phone, video and mailed communications.
Mid-America Arts Alliance is headquartered in the Crossroads Arts District of Kansas City, Missouri. M- AAA brings more art to more people in communities throughout our six-state region (Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas) and the nation. With an annual operating budget of over $4 million and 27 staff members we produce and manage more than 450 exhibition, performance, and professional development opportunities in more than 300 communities for more than one million people annually.
Essential duties that include:
• Productively engage in the development, implementation, and evaluation of effective program strategies;
• Working with a diverse array of professional staff and contractors;
• Processing data and managing timelines related to the cross-sector opportunity;
• Conducting due diligence measures to meet legal requirements for distribution of funding;
• Proofing and/or copy-editing grant materials as needed;
• Assisting Division Director with scheduling meetings, and making travel arrangements;
• Assisting other M-AAA staff members, and contracted specialists, with the development, documentation, and distribution of AHGP projects as requested;
• Attending department meetings; and
• Other duties as assigned.
Work is of a mostly sedentary nature or low-impact in physical activity. This includes sitting at a desk using a computer, phone and other office equipment as well as walking and driving to various locations as needed. Will occasionally be required to travel for meetings and/or conferences. While a majority of work occurs in relation to grant program development and implementation, this person will be required to be flexible and acclimate to changing priorities and new objectives.

• Ability to interpret and explain facets of M-AAA programs and procedures to others.
Skills and Abilities

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated mix of the following:
• 1-2 years of administrative experience preferably in a creative, nonprofit environment, with an understanding of data management practices, ideally grants management preferred; • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, with SalesForce, Form Assembly and DocuSign working knowledge preferred; • Fluency in a language other than English not required, but a plus; and
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or Military experience preferred.
