Under general supervision, assists with setting up and staffing events in the Theatre Centre, Conference Centre, and Stone Cottage. Maintains event facilities and equipment.

Essential Functions
Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Sets up and breaks down Theatre Centre spaces according to event orders and maintains cleanliness standards.
Organizes and maintains lighting and sound equipment, projectors, and shop tools.
Assists in organization of storage spaces.
Opens and closes facility; adjusts lighting, sound volume and temperature as needed for each room before guests arrive. Checks and locks all doors, gates, and windows when closing facility; changes light bulbs; cleans light fixtures; climbs ladders.
Sets up, arranges, and takes down chairs, tables, and other equipment per event requirements.
Vacuums; maintains public spaces; cleans lavatories and restrooms as needed; acts as general handyman repairing minor building maintenance problems.
Drives own or Town vehicle on errands to pick up and deliver needed materials and supplies.
Operate forklift as necessary for Town events, deliveries and general space configuration.
Displays initiative in finding solutions to service delivery challenges and displays flexibility and a positive attitude in resolving customer grievances.
Maintain communication with event coordinators, supervisor and other staff regarding any special needs.
May be asked to perform additional job duties that are directly, indirectly or completely unrelated to normal job functions in the course of presenting certain Town special events.
Performs related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines
High school diploma or GED equivalent; AND two (2) years of technical theatre experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relations with fellow employees, Town officials, and outside contracts. Safe driving record. Clear criminal background check and clear pre-employment drug screen.

Knowledge of:
Theatrical lighting, sound, projection, and shop tools.
Materials, tools, and equipment used in general maintenance.
Basic facility repair methods.
Safety policies, procedures, and practices.

Skill in:
Interacting with the public tactfully and professionally.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Following written and verbal instructions.
Communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.

A valid Texas Driver’s License is required. Must have or obtain certification as a forklift operator within 6 months.

Routine schedule is 20 hours per week. Hours will vary and include evening and weekend shifts depending upon facility use schedule. The schedule is based on the needs of that week and is set two weeks ahead of time.

Work is performed throughout Town event rental facilities. Work is generally performed indoors, but occasionally will be performed outdoors. Work requires moderate physical exertion and exposure to potentially dangerous tools, equipment, and chemicals. Work may also include limited exposure to outside weather conditions and may require entry into confined spaces and heights. May be required to load and unload objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
