The Staff Accountant provides support for the Finance function with the preparation, processing and reporting of financial transactions and functions. Also, provides support to the Director of Finance.

• Responsible for Cash/Check Deposits, along with daily uploads of income activity from our CRM Application and other payment processors. Will need to make daily bank runs.
• Responsible for maintaining, recording, and reconciling Purchase Card Activity
• Assists with the verification, allocation, recording and reconciliation of financial transactions to general ledger as assigned by Director of Finance
• Assists Accounting and Budget Specialist in Full-Cycle A/P Function of the Organization
• Assists Accounting and Budget Specialist with Payroll Processing as needed and acts as backup for payroll processing.
• Maintains physical financial transaction files as assigned.
• Coordinates calendar, agendas and logistics for Finance team and committee meetings. If appropriate, takes and distributes notes from meetings.
• Assists with all onboarding of new hires, including all new hire paperwork, assuring paperwork is compliant, and filing of onboarding paperwork

• Must be able to work in a shared office space. Must be able to function in periods of high stress and conflict, as well as maintain focus in a noisy environment.
• This position is frequently required to sit for long periods of time, communicate with all organizational departments, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. Routine lifting of up to 10 pounds; periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds without assistance.

• Associate degree in accounting, or combination experience and education that yield the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Knowledge of basic accounting concepts; knowledge of non-profit accounting preferred
• Demonstrated skills in computerized accounting (Quickbooks preferred) and payroll software, MS Office Suite and Google Apps
• Analytical and problem-solving skills: high attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Organizational and planning skills
• Ability to provide customer service to internal and external customers.
• Ability to remain calm and flexible under pressure
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to manage administrative tasks, multitask and prioritize demands
• Ability to interact with all levels and departments within ZACH

Salary: $43,000 – $48,000, including 100% employer paid healthcare premium cost for employee
