Call for Artists: Military Mural at Wichita Falls Regional Airport ($4,250)
The Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture, in partnership with the City of Wichita Falls, is seeking an artist or artist team to design and create a new mural honoring 60 years of German Air Force training at Sheppard Air Force Base.

Since 1966, the German Air Force has sent pilot students to Sheppard Air Force Base for training. In 1981, this partnership became part of the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program, known as ENJJPT. The program has helped build decades of military partnership, international cooperation, and personal connection. It has also made Wichita Falls home to generations of German Air Force personnel and their families.

The mural will be located inside Wichita Falls Regional Airport. The airport is directly connected to Sheppard Air Force Base and serves as a major entry point into Wichita Falls for residents, visitors, military families, and international partners.
The selected artist or artist team will create a site-specific mural on existing airport paneling. The finished work should honor this history while reflecting the friendship between Wichita Falls, Sheppard Air Force Base, and Germany.
Artists interested in applying should carefully review the full Request for Qualifications before submitting an application. The RFQ includes project background, site information, eligibility requirements, evaluation criteria, budget details, timeline, and required application materials.
