This is a full-time position and is available immediately. The Development Assistant will report to the Director of Development.

Duties: The Development Assistant will be responsible for all tasks and duties assigned by her/his supervisor including, but not limited to

Fundraising. Participating in and supporting all administrative duties relating to fundraising,
• Organize and enter donor gifts, pledges, payments and recurring gifts and contact data in eTapestry donor database on a timely basis,
• Assist in the creation of donor communications such as acknowledgment letters, collateral materials, social media and messaging, and any donor solicitation mailings,
• Perform grant research and manage the annual grants calendar,
• Participate in fundraising activities including donor recognition, email and phone follow up with donors and potential donors,
• Create queries and run fundraising reports using eTapestry and follow report request criteria,
• Organize, update and file donor thank you letters,
• Show initiative and ask questions to clarify assigned tasks.

Special Events. Facilitating and supporting the ongoing work of volunteer event chairs, volunteer hosts and ARTS SA staff to

• Facilitate special events including Luncheons/Galas, donor receptions, Board and Committee meetings and other proposed events,
• Create and manage event budgets and checklists,
• Support event activities and be a creative problem solver when faced with multiple stakeholders and points of view,
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate event reservation lists as requested,
• Create and send donor invoices and track payments as requested,
• Participate in the negotiation of event venues and vendor agreements,
• Facilitate and communicate with Board, vendors, collaborators, volunteers, staff and others as needed.

Public Relations. Work with the Director of Development on email and social media messaging related to fundraising.

General. Provide relief phone duty, take ticket and subscription orders, greet visitors and provide administrative support to others on the ARTS San Antonio staff as needed.

Primary Qualifications. The candidate must:

• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in an arts-related field, nonprofit management or fundraising,
• Be experienced in using MS Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, donor data base systems such as eTapestry Raiser’s Edge, Tessitura, etc. and business and nonprofit email platforms such as Constant Contact, MailChimp or EMMA, etc.
• Be an efficient and organized manager of time and myriad details,
• Be skilled at coordinating all the working parts of complicated events,
• Exhibit writing and editing skills necessary for effective communication and to assist with creating fundraising, advertising, public relations and other materials.
• Be experienced in using social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram,
• Use resources effectively in a team environment,
• Keep supervisor and stakeholders informed of work completed, issues encountered and how they were resolved,
• Be able to effectively, comfortably and respectfully communicate verbally and in writing with diverse individuals and groups.
• Available to work some evenings and weekends.

Other Qualifications. Applicants should be:

• Skilled at data entry, data review and data reporting,
• Able to identify and resolve data errors with minimal supervision,
• Well groomed, comfortable and experienced in making effective personal and written presentations at meetings and gatherings,
