The UMLAUF Sculpture Garden & Museum seeks a talented part-time, 20 hours/week Visitor Services Associate passionate about museums and their ability to enhance the lives of our visitors. Our Visitor Services Associate manages first contact with Museum visitors, and therefore plays an important role in creating a welcoming, personalized and memorable experience for all visitors and UMLAUF Members. This is an opportunity to work with a beloved arts organization at the cusp of exciting change and growth.

• Acknowledge and engage with patrons by providing UMLAUF approved information about the Museum, its namesake, exhibitions, programs, and events
• Manage admission sales and tickets for special events
• Engage patrons to create a positive visitor experience
• Monitor Gallery and exhibited artwork
• Become knowledgeable and conversant on the Museum, Sculpture Garden, and artists on view
• Track admissions and collect demographic data
• Record gift shop sales, and monitor inventory, manage the order and shipping of inventory
• Administer opening and closing procedures as scheduled
• Assist UMLAUF events and programs as needed
• Participates in the day-to-day responsibility for cash drawers and cash handling, following all cash control policies and procedures implemented by the Museum
• Develops a high level proficiency with POS system for admissions and ticketing
• VS Associate will also have the opportunity and will be encouraged to collaborate with the Museum leadership in innovative and creative ways to interact and engage with the public.
• Manages the schedule of the volunteers and weekend staff in visitor services
• Additional duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s degree, preference given to those with a background in arts or business
• At one year of customer service experience in a museum, hospitality, or retail environment
• good work history, high dependability, professional demeanor and a strong customer service orientation.
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge and strong interest in art, museum education, or business/hospitality preferred
• Priorities in line with your supervisor, the Executive Director and goal alignment with the organization

• Highly organized

Will be evaluated on a 30, 60, and 90 day probationary period.

Manages: schedule of volunteer and weekend staff
