Performs advanced (senior-level) grant development and coordination. Work involves coordinating the preparation, maintenance, and reporting of grant applications; and serving as liaison between funding sources and the State. May supervise the work of others. Works under limited direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. TCA Employees are prohibited from being compensated or serving in a leadership/volunteer position with any potential grantee.


  • Reviews and coordinates grant applications, including narrative descriptions, budgets, and supporting attachments.
  • Provides information through written materials and public speaking regarding grant opportunities and agency initiatives.
  • Conducts seminars, workshops, meetings, etc. related to grant opportunities.
  •  Promotes best practices to grant seekers.
  • Prepares reports on grantmaking activity.
  • Recruits grant applicants from throughout the state.
  • Monitors grantee compliance through on-site audits.
  • Serves as agency liaison to the multidiscipline and community arts organizations.
  • Serves as agency liaison on tourism.
  • Performs related work as assigned.


  • Five years experience working in a grant-making capacity or for a non-profit arts organization.
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in an arts discipline or a related field is generally preferred.
  •  Experience and education may be substituted for one another.


  • Knowledge of and practical experience in community arts and/or local arts agencies.
  • Knowledge and background in cultural tourism.
  • Ability to work with non-profit arts organizations.
  • Ability to work with local and State government officials.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Skill in working with multiple priorities, interruptions and changing deadlines.
