Jolie Rocke
Dr. Jolie Rocke is a multi‑genre vocalist whose dynamic artistry has been featured on American and international stages. Celebrated as "a gifted, versatile vocalist who's as much at home soaring on opera arias and celestial hymns as she is getting down with funky blues and earthy jazz," she brings exceptional range, depth, and authenticity to every performance. After she opened Dr. Maya Angelou's final national tour, Angelou praised her as a singer of profound "passion… and compassion." With more than 30 years as an arts educator, Dr. Rocke trains and mentors emerging artists through Rocke Vocal Studio and as Founder of HBCU Arts, serving as a producer, clinician, master class artist, and arts program innovator. Through Rocke Arts, she creates unique original recitals, concerts, vocal and choral workshops, lecture‑demonstrations, and fully staged productions. She collaborates with outstanding Texas‑based musicians, actors, and multidisciplinary artists to deliver customizable programs for schools, nonprofits, and community venues. Signature programs include Singing HERstory; Sing Langston!; Songs of the African American Soul; Remembering Juneteenth; Triumphant Over Triple Negative; A Spiritual Christmas; Lasting Impressions; S'Wonderful; The 4 V's: Voice, Vision, Variety, and Value; The Science of Singing; Rocke the Voice; and more.
