Austin Taiko

Austin Taiko is a Japanese drumming ensemble dedicated to sharing the power, discipline, and joy of taiko through performance, education, and community engagement. Blending traditional taiko with contemporary expression, Austin Taiko delivers dynamic performances marked by thunderous rhythms, synchronized movement, and connection with nature and environment. Founded to build community through rhythm, Austin Taiko welcomes participants of all backgrounds and experience levels. The group emphasizes respect for Japanese cultural heritage, collaboration, and the belief that taiko is both a musical art form and a means of connection. Austin Taiko provides the following programs: Taiko Ensemble Performances – An ongoing adult performance group that rehearses regularly and performs at festivals, concerts, schools, and cultural events.
