Description
Del Castillo’s musical style blends old-world culture and new-day instrumentation, creating a unique sound that reflects their Tejas (Texas) roots. You can feel the heat and the energy of the song as it weaves their set. Del Castillo is no stranger to the music industry, having earned recognition and praise from renowned filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino, who featured their songs in movies such as Once Upon A Time In Mexico, Kill Bill Vol. II, Alita Battle Angel, The Green Ghost, Machete, Sin City, and Planet Terror. Del Castillo has become a symbol of the cross-cultural power of music with their eclectic blend of flamenco, rock, Latin, blues, and world music. They have been described as a ‘cross between Paco de Lucia and Yngwie Malmsteen,’ or a ‘Latinized Allman Brothers Band.’ Their shows consist of passionate material including fresh-faced flamenco, many originals, classics given a new coat of paint, and jamming with the enthusiasm of a band that is comfortable together, but years away from feeling tired. They play as a full band to a trio (Rick, Mark and Alex). They offer workshops in guitar playing, songwriting, and percussion if presented in conjunction with a concert or school performance.
