Drum One, Drum All uses ancient drumming traditions to educate, entertain, and engage minds and bodies. The interactive program explores drum traditions from Africa, South America, the Caribbean, and beyond. While musical arrangements come to life on authentic instruments, participants use body percussion and vocalization to mimic traditional drum patterns. In a highly engaging call-and-response format, students learn history, geography, vocabulary, and dance moves alongside fundamental rhythmic concepts--all integrated with TEKS curriculum. This global journey returns home with a funky orchestra created on household junk from the recycle bin. By connecting the ancient stories of distant people to our own lives, Drum One Drum All builds a bridge across our differences. Drum One Drum All also offers drum and body percussion workshops, lectures, and drum/dance performances in various styles including West African/djembe, Afro-Cuban rumba/congas, bucket drumming, Afro-Brazilian, and samba. Drum One Drum All is led by Noah Mosgofian, a veteran percussionist whose credits include STOMP, the Drum Cafe, San Francisco Ballet's Dance Outreach Program, Edinburgh International Festival, former director- Lannaya Drum and Dance, and director of Austin Samba (North America's largest samba group).
