Description
Everett Wren’s life has revolved around music since he began performing at age four in his family’s folk band. When his parents started a square and contra dance group in Arkansas, he was mentored in fiddling that inspires folks to the dance floor. He went on to win a state fiddling championship, joined the first violin section of the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra, and toured the country with Wagon, his St. Louis, Missouri-based Americana band, which recorded albums for the Hightone and Glitterhouse labels. After busking through Europe, he went on to earn a master’s degree in acoustics from the University of Texas at Austin, then cofounded the bands Lost & Nameless and Chalkboard Poets, described by Lloyd Maines as ‘a great vibe and great listening experience.’ While sharing fiddle traditions is his lifelong passion, Everett is a gifted songwriter and producer who, in addition to public and private performances across Texas, offers insights to harnessing acoustics with storytelling to help artists realize their musical visions. Everett gives workshops throughout the US on fiddling, coordinating dance bands, improvisation, and clogging, and he leads a cast of amazing musicians in duo, trio, or quartet ensembles who are ideal for listening settings.
