Invoke
Described as "...not anything but everything: Classical, Folk, Bluegrass, Americana and a sound yet to be termed seamlessly merged into a perfect one" ((David Srebnik, SiriusXM), the multi-instrumental quartet Invoke seamlessly weaves together classical, folk, bluegrass, jazz, and minimalism. Fueled by a passion for storytelling, they create a unique contemporary repertoire featuring original works composed by and for the group. A winner of the Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition, Invoke also took First Prize at the M-Prize and Coltman competitions. They previously served as the Young Professional String Quartet in Residence at the University of Texas at Austin. Performance highlights include Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, alongside collaborations with artists including the Enso and Miro Quartets. Their discography includes Souls in the Mud (2015), Furious Creek (2018), Fantastic Planet (2021), and Evolve and Travel (2023). They frequently collaborate with composer Graham Reynolds, contributing to the soundtracks for the films Where'd You Go, Bernadette (2019) and Hit Man (2023). Dedicated to championing diverse voices, Invoke's "American Postcards" initiative commissions new music that explores specific times and places in American history. Photo by Marshall Tidrick.
