Description
J Muzacz is a muralist, public artist, and educator with nearly two decades of experience creating landmark artworks for both public and private clients. He is also a published author/illustrator with three books to his credit. Born and raised in Houston and a graduate of the University of Texas in sociology, Muzacz has since traveled extensively and lived abroad for many years, painting murals in places as far-reaching as Taiwan, New Zealand, and Japan. Muzacz started the Mosaic Workshop in Austin in 2019 as an artist-run crash course in mosaic making and public art. Community members of all ages and abilities can learn the medium and process through hands-on mosaic workshops and landmark mural projects of monumental scale. His programs include collaborative pixel art mosaics that can involve hundreds of community members, individual mosaic workshops, public art mosaics, sustainable mosaic scrap kits, mural painting and production, aerosol art workshops, and more! Connecting his passions for art, travel, and outreach, Muzacz is eager to tour and engage with schools and communities all over the state of Texas, making and facilitating ambitious painted mural projects and mosaic art to uplift, educate, and inspire people of all ages for generations to come.
