Emanuelee Bean, renowned as ‘Outspoken Bean,’ is a dynamic artist and influential mentor, boasting an impressive array of achievements in poetry and performance. His trailblazing spirit took center stage at Carnegie Hall, marking a milestone in his illustrious career. Bean made history as the first poet to grace the main stage of Houston Ballet during ‘Play,’ showcasing his pioneering influence. Beyond the stage, Bean’s creative impact extends to collaborations with renowned entities like Pabst Blue Ribbon and VICE, leading national campaigns on diversity. He curated the groundbreaking Plus Fest: The Everything Plus Poetry Festival, a celebration of the convergence between diverse art forms and poetry. Hailing from New Jersey and immersed in the vibrant culture of San Antonio, Texas, Outspoken Bean held the prestigious title of Houston’s Poet Laureate, 2021-2023, complemented by the esteemed Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellowship in 2022. With a steadfast commitment to nurturing emerging talents, Bean served as the Head Coach of Meta-Four Houston for 14 years, culminating in their triumphant success at the Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam in 2023.
