Jonathan Palomar

Jonathan Palomar is a solo vocalist and one of the most distinguished voices in mariachi music today. For the past nine years, he has served as the lead vocalist of the legendary Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, widely recognized as the best mariachi in the world. But he is also actively focusing on expanding his solo career, bringing his voice and artistry to new audiences and projects beyond the ensemble. In addition to his artistic career, Jonathan is the Artistic Director of the nation's largest and most prestigious mariachi festival, the Mariachi Extravaganza, held annually in San Antonio. Under his artistic leadership, the festival has strengthened its educational and cultural mission, bringing together thousands of students, musicians, directors, vocalists, and mariachi enthusiasts for high-level competitions, workshops, and concerts. Recognized for his musicality, stage presence, and commitment to uplifting the next generation, Jonathan Palomar has become a key figure in contemporary mariachi—celebrated as a performer, educator, and cultural ambassador of the tradition.
