Description

Singer-songwriter Kamica King, a US Cultural Ambassador and National Endowment for the Arts subgrantee, brings a radiant stage presence and folk/soul sound influenced by jazz and her Afro-Caribbean roots. The classically trained vocalist excels at connecting with her audience, seamlessly weaving story and song to inspire and uplift. Kamica offers a diverse range of live performances (solo, trio, band) and interactive workshops, masterclasses, and residencies for various audiences, ages, and abilities. Her impressive resume of performances includes TEDx, the Kennedy Center (Arts Across America), the US Open (USTA), Carnegie Hall, and international touring in Africa, Colombia, and Trinidad. With a Master’s in music and board certification in music therapy, Kamica’s skillfully-crafted offerings center the creative, therapeutic, and entrepreneurial facets of music. Topics span songwriting, performance technique, music business, social change through music, and interactive programs that foster artistic expression and community-building through group music-making activities (drum circles, singing, songwriting) for children through senior-adults. As a socially engaged artist, Kamica’s work has been supported by the legendary Noel Paul Stookey (Peter, Paul & Mary) and his daughter Liz, through Music to Life, and Kamica is recognized as an expert arts practitioner by the US Dept. of State (2023).
