Description
‘In a world dominated with electronics and video, this little company in Dallas has defied the odds to stay relevant. They continue to flourish with their unique style of entertainment. Only when you see their shows will you appreciate the level of detail and quality of the marionettes,’ writes USA TODAY. Since 1987, Le Theatre has wowed audiences, from the classroom to the music hall. Their artists are accomplished performers, as meticulous as the puppets they operate. ‘The shows are in a word… Amazing!’ said the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. ‘Magical,’ ‘Unique,’ ‘Spellbinding Showmanship!’ is how audiences have described the performers. Le Theatre’s shows are presented either cabaret (puppeteers in view with short strings), or traditional bridge (puppeteers hidden behind proscenium). Traditional bridge theater shows include scenery, lighting, special effects, and all the theater magic of a Broadway show performed on the puppet stage. Cabaret shows include ‘Silly Strings,’ a musical variety, and ‘Happily Ever After,’ a storybook princess spectacle. Their traditional bridge shows include adaptions of children’s classics such as ‘Hansel and Gretel,’ ‘The Wizard of Oz,’ ‘Pinocchio,’ ‘Jack and the Beanstalk,’ ‘Cinderella,’ ‘The Little Mermaid,’ and ‘Snow White.’ In 2024, Le Theatre celebrated its 37th year of operation.
