Montopolis

Montopolis is an indie chamber music group that performs the works of composer Justin Sherburn. Their music combines rock, folk, and electronic compositions into modern classical arrangements to create 'stunning and transcendent' (Austin Chronicle) concerts. Their programs combine live music with film and interactive storytelling. The group tours nationally with original live scores to silent films and presents concerts that highlight Texas history and culture at performing arts centers and museums across the state. Their multimedia concerts are themed around Big Bend National Park, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, and the Texas coast. They tour live score performances to silent films at arthouse cinemas around the country and have most recently developed a planetarium concert featuring cellist Sara Nelson. They also perform a live score to the iconic children's film Le Ballon Rouge (The Red Balloon).
