Oliver Rajamani
Oliver Rajamani performs innovative soul-stirring original music drawn from the historic Romani (Gypsy) trail and Texas Americana, while bringing recognition to the historical Indian origins of the Romani people. He sings in various languages including English, Spanish, Romani, and languages of India. He is an Austin, Texas award winner, a 2008 US Artist Award nominee and 2014 nominee for the German music award "Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik." He has toured internationally and recorded and performed with poets/artists wide-ranging in style including Jeronimo Maya, Gypsy Kings, Willie Nelson, Edie Brickell, L. Shanker, Eric Johnson, Diane Schuur, Ustad Shujaat Khan, Ustad Aashish Khan, Roby Lakatos, Jivan Gasparyan, Tomasa La Macanita, Robert Bly, Coleman Barks including performances for Maharaja of Jodhpur, India, Gaj Singh II. He has been a featured artist on NPR and BBC radio and KLRU PBS amongst other international radio shows, TV stations, magazines, and TEDx. Rajamani concert productions include: (1) FLAMENCO INDIA-an innovative musical journey into the historic Indian roots of Spain's Romani (Gypsy) Flamenco; (2) "VASI"-an original blend of Texas Americana and Indian/Romani music; with Western string orchestration, American jazz, exotic ballads; (3) Oliver Rajamani and his Texas Lone Stars-6 piece band performing a blend of Indian/Romani and Texas Americana music.
