Oliver Rajamani performs innovative soul-stirring original music drawn from Indian, European Romani (Gypsy), and Texas Americana traditions while bringing recognition to the historical Indian origins of the Romani people. He sings in various languages including English, Romani, and languages of india. Oliver is an Austin, Texas Music award winner, a 2008 US Artist Award nominee and 2014 nominee for the German music award ‘Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik.’ He has toured internationally and recorded and performed with poets/artists wide-ranging in style including Jeronimo Maya, Gypsy Kings, Willie Nelson, Edie Brickell, L. Shanker, Eric Johnson, Diane Schuur, Ustad Shujaat Khan, Ustad Aashish Khan, Glen Velez, Roby Lakatos, Jivan Gasparyan, Paravai Munniamma, Tomasa La Macanita, Robert Bly, and Coleman Barks including performances for the Maharaja of Jodhpur, India, Gaj Singh II. He has been a featured artist on NPR and BBC radio and KLRU PBS amongst numerous other international radio shows, TV stations, and magazines, including the TEDx platform. His concert productions include: Flamenco India, an innovative musical journey into the Indian roots of Spain’s Romani (Gypsy) Flamenco; Texas Gypsy (Romani) Fire, an original blend of Texas Americana and (Romani) Gypsy music; and Vasi, Western string orchestration, American jazz, Romani/India traditions, exotic ballads.
