Ramblin’ Rita
StoryTime Entertainment's Ramblin' Rita is an energetic, storytelling cowgirl who brings children's literature and original tales to life through highly interactive, character-driven performances for schools, libraries, and community events. Designed for preK–5th grade audiences, Ramblin' Rita's programs blend expressive narration, humor, and audience participation to support literacy, social–emotional learning, and a love of reading. With flexible formats that adapt easily to stages, gymnasiums, cafeterias, and library meeting rooms, StoryTime Entertainment offers turnkey assemblies and family programs that are engaging, curriculum-friendly, and simple for hosts to present. Unique among storytelling acts, Rambin' Rita is not alone on stage. She recruits members of the audience to help tell her tales! She provides costumes and props on the spot and teaches volunteers their lines as they go. Those not onstage participate through frequent call-and-response sections and choreographed movements. Age-appropriate themes encourage positive character traits such as kindness, courage, and cooperation. At the same time, the unique format offers kids of all skill levels the opportunity to shine and gain confidence as future storytellers. Photo by Kelly James Ballagh.
