Texas Gypsies

For more than 20 years, the Texas Gypsies have captivated audiences with an award-winning signature sound—a stylish blend of vintage jazz and swing inspired by the Roaring '20s, Great Gatsby glamour, and the Big Band era of the 1930s–40s. Rooted in classic American jazz and delivered with a fresh, contemporary edge, their music resonates with audiences of all ages. Blending Texas western swing, Django Reinhardt–influenced gypsy jazz, and classic Big Band traditions, The Texas Gypsies deliver a polished, high-energy concert experience that is both entertaining and accessible. Performances feature violin, horns, guitars, upright bass, and vintage-style drums, showcasing exceptional musicianship, dynamic instrumental and vocal selections, and an engaging high energy stage presence. Well suited for performing arts centers, theaters, and festivals, the band offers flexible ensemble configurations—from an intimate 4-piece combo to a swinging 6-piece group or a full 12-piece big band—allowing presenters to align artistic impact with venue size and budget. In addition to concerts, the Texas Gypsies offer educational workshops that combine live performance with lively historical insight into traditional American jazz and swing. These programs bring the music to life through storytelling, demonstration, and optional hands-on experiences for student musicians. Photo by Coppell Arts.
