Description
The Grand Ol’ Production Company provides true-blue, all-American, always Texan musical variety shows in the setting of retro radio programs. In 2023, the Company celebrated 20 years of original grand ol’ productions. With three marquee shows, The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show, The Grand Ol’ Americana Show, and The Grand Ol’ Halloween Show, audiences won’t soon forget the hilarious sketch comedy antics and incredible music from all-time favorite American traditions. The performances combine musical genres across opera, Americana, jazz, gospel, and country, and its talented cast of 20 artists provides something for everyone whether they enjoy the Grand Ol’ Radio Orchestra and Gospel Singers or an operatic performance of O Holy Night. A favorite since 2003, The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show is a tribute to Holiday traditions, cleverly and progressively blurring the lines between heartfelt nostalgia and pop-culture satire. The second marquee production, The Grand Ol’ Americana Show, is performed ‘within the studio’ of 1776 AM L-B-R-T ‘Liberty’ Radio and features Americana standouts from some of the best entertainers in Texas. The Grand Ol’ Halloween Show is a ghoulishly good, spell-binding musical variety show thriller with the same appeal and range of entertainment as its sister shows. Photo by Bill Vinson.
