The Vinyl Stripes
The Vinyl Stripes are a Texas-based band delivering a high-energy show inspired by the sound, look, and style of the 1950s and '60s. Drawing from 1950s rockabilly, vintage rock and roll, 1960s California surf music, and the classic artists of Sun Records, their performances capture the excitement of mid-century American popular music while remaining fresh for today's audiences. Performing as a trio of guitar, upright bass, and drums, the band showcases tight three-part harmonies, superb musicianship, and period-authentic instrumentation. Their repertoire blends iconic songs by artists such as Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and Buddy Holly with a strong collection of original songs that fits seamlessly within the era's sound. The show also features engaging visual moments—most notably the bassist leaping onto and percussively slapping his upright bass—an audience favorite! Adorned with skinny ties, pork pie hats, vintage guitars, upright bass, and drums, the band brings an authentic visual and musical experience to the stage. They can expand to a four-piece lineup with tenor saxophone, adding extra energy and sound. With over a decade of touring across Texas and the United States, the Vinyl Stripes deliver a reliable, family-friendly production ideal for performing arts centers, theaters, festivals, and curated cultural events.
