Description
Theatre Heroes, and their available program Call of the Wild, are based out of Austin, TX. Call of the Wild has toured to over 125 cities nationwide inspiring young audiences and their families to revisit this classic novel and promote art and imagination. Call of the Wild offers a high-quality touring performance for young audiences and those young at heart. Based on the novel by Jack London, Call of the Wild is a multimedia adventure that mixes classic storytelling with projected illustrations. This classic story is reawakened by one actor who plays more than twenty-five characters. Call of the Wild celebrates this classic story beloved by three generations with a live theater experience for the whole family. Call of the Wild offers page to stage curriculum connections– Fine Arts: dramatic performance and multimedia technology; Language Arts: adapting a novel into a play narrative, reading, comprehension, writing and vocabulary; Science: dogs, wolves, animals and environment; History: North American Klondike Gold Rush of the 1800’s; Social Emotional Development: resilience, endurance and adapting to new circumstances. Call of the Wild offers additional opportunities to empower educators and students to draw connections and retain comprehension through talkbacks and workshops. Photo by Levente Szabo.
