Gemini Ink, San Antonio’s Literary Arts Center, seeks a part-time Events & Special Projects Coordinator to support our literary programming. Gemini Ink provides creative writing workshops led by published writers at our offices and in diverse community settings. We also host free public readings by nationally and internationally recognized authors, open-mic nights, a Mentorship Program, and an annual summer Writers Conference.

POSITION SUMMARY: Gemini Ink is looking for a part-time Events & Special Projects Coordinator who has a minimum of a Bachelor degree from an accredited university, in addition to 1-3 years experience in event and programming management, preferably in the arts. The position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task, work well with deadlines, as well as collaboratively.
This individual would work on a contract basis through August 31, after which continued employment would be re-assessed.

SKILLS NEEDED
Strong project management skills
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Excellent editing and proofing skills
Bachelor degree in English, Communications, or a related field
1-3 years experience in Event/Project Management, ideally in the arts
Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
Proficient in technology–Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, Mac Systems, Google Drive–as a reporting and communications tool. Working knowledge of Indesign a plus.
Able to work weekends & evenings, as needed
Problem-solving skills and adaptability
Prioritizes and meets deadlines

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Organizing events to include event booking and logistics, liaising with host hotel for summer conference
Arranging hotel and travel for visiting authors
Budget management
Contract management
Compiling, editing and proofing event organizational print material
Facilitating certain Gemini Ink events, such as the book club, when needed
Public relations
Program development and evaluation
Overseeing and managing volunteers and interns as needed to meet event objectives.

COMPENSATION: $15/hour, higher pay commensurate with experience
